any chance your new kiln is firing faster than the old one? you didn't say
if the 1027 is brand new or a used one you bought - but if new those things
can fire very fast. i have seen them go to cone 6 in 5 hours and that may
not give the glazes time to smooth out.
just a thought....but it may be worth while to compare the firing time of
the old kiln vs. the newer one to see how much of a difference there is.
you didn't change clay bodies did you?

Has anyone ever heard of this:
I had a Skutt 818 and I use Laguna Moroccan Sand cone 5 glazes. There are =
3
different combinations that I just loved but then I got a Skut KM 1027 and
when I try these combinations I get lots of bubbles and craters. No one
can explain this. Laguna even had me send samples to show them. I have
also talked with Skutt and also Orton.
I fire my bisque to cone 04.
Any input would be appreciated.
