firing a small bust

How did your student build this bust? I used flattened coils for my
large female sculptures and braced the sculpture every few rows by
putting flat coils vertically across the horizontal coils in the inside.

I had no problems firing my work to ^6 or ^10. Nothing sagged or
drooped. I did have problems when I forgot to cut a hole in the head
once. Whole head blew up and flew around the kiln.

What kind of clay were you using? My sculptures were made from clay
designed to be built into large sculptures. It was fairly gorggy.
