As said in a previous post--about Gail's problem with speckles on her =3D
majolica--I suspect the cause is talc--or something in the talc--in the =3D
body.
I have told before of a disaster when a supplier assured me there was NO =
=3D
talc in a white c.6 body I was buying from him--and I trusted him. =3D
Result. All the "lovely" white pots that had cobalt blue brushwork on =3D
them--my aim was cool Delftish blues--had purplish brushwork!!!!!!!!!!
My fault for being a trusting fool . BUT I do wish people who make up =3D
clay bodies would tell us on the boxes, or at least the catalog entries, =
=3D
whether there is talc in there...
(Ever since I had that disaster some thirty years ago I test every white =
=3D
body before using0

For newbies: Talc contains magnesium; and magnesium turns cobalt from =
=3D
blue to purple. VERY useful when you want purple. Disaster when you =3D
want cool blues.=3D20
