> I am looking for a Cone 6 vitreous clay body formula for throwing.
I would start with 25% ball clay, 25% kaolin and 50% feldspar.
If this is too vitreous, reduce the feldspar. Use a plastic kaolin
if possible.
If it is not plastic enough, increase the ball clay and reduce the
kaolin.
If it is not white enough, increase the kaolin, reduce the ball clay
and add a little bentonite to restore plasticity.
If your glazes craze, then add flint and reduce the thermal expansion
of your glazes.
