> How would I go about formulating a glaze that breaks nicely on edges?
Use a glaze that is partially opaque, thus where it is thick
it will be darker and where it is thin on the edges it will be
light. If you use a light glaze on a dark body or vice versa
the effect will be enhanced.
Or employ a fluid glaze that develops a microcrystal
network on the surface, the crystals often fail to form on the
edges where the glaze is thin.
