More info....Don has donated four acres of his property to The Herberger In=
stitute/ ASU School of Art. This includes the kiln site, eight kilns, stud=
io and gallery buildings, and about forty pieces from his collection. The =
long range plan is for this to become an interdisciplinary residency destin=
ation in Clarkdale, Arizona. This is an exciting opportunity for ASU, The =
Research Center, and Arizona. Of course, much fund raising has to be done =
first.
The pilot program will be launched on January 5, 2011 and will run for thre=
e weeks. The cost is about $1500. Admission is for ASU students and other=
s.
This is all the info we have now. It will take a while for all the legali=
ties to be finalized. I am on the advisory board for the ASU Ceramic Rese=
arch Center. The center is not handling this, but Peter Held is consulting=
. All inquiries should go to the ASU School of Art.
