Does anyone have information about a potters guild for the Nashville or
middle Tennessee area?

Dale,
The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists is an independent statewide
organization for all artists and has a strong clay community. Contact Lenore
Vanderkooi (president) 615-383 0545 or the Cumberland Valley Chapter Julie Ann
Rodgers 615 591 9407 for an application. They are a great group of people.
Welcome to Tennessee!

Dale,

Check into the Applachian Center for Crafts in Smithville, home of the clay
guru Vince Pitelka, and a bunch of other clay junkies. I'm sure you can
link from there to Nashville.

Dale -
I do not know of any guilds in our area which are specifically for potters.
For the fine crafts in general, the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists
is one of the most vital and productive artisans organizations in the
country. Nashville information can give you their number. Lenore
Vanderkoii, the current president (and a potter), or Alice Meritt, long-time
executive director, can give you more information. TACA does many things
for the promotion of the fine crafts. They operate some of the best craft
fairs in the mid-south region - a spring and a fall fair in Nashville, and a
fall fair in Chattanooga.

When you get a chance, stop by and visit us at the Appalachian Center for
Crafts in Smithville. Email me if you want more information.
