I wanted to follow up with what I learned from several firings and the ma=

replies and suggestions I got from my earlier posting/question. The prob=

lem
was the opacity of a "clear" matte glaze on stoneware in which impression=

s
of leaves and other objects had been placed. My glaze was obscuring the
leaf images, even when given a strong iron oxide wash/wipe.
Here's the process that works best for me:
1. Impress the leaf firmly into the soft clay.
2. Slipcoat.
3. Remove leaf, complete piece and bisque to ^04.
4. Brush Amaco velour black onto areas to highlight.
5. Carefully sponge off underglaze while rinsing the sponge often.
6. Spray on a very light fog of the matte glaze. "Light fog" means holdi=

the spray gun further from the piece than usual, and only spraying enough=

to
barely moisten the surface. The highlighted image should still be visibl=

e.
7. Fire to ^6.
This process is a hybrid of several of several of your suggestions, each =

which I appreciated very much. Just one more example of how ClayArt real=

does work...
Many thanks,
