If you happen to pass through Las Vegas, consider to stop by and we can go
get a bite to eat and bat the Breeze a little.

I am Downtown.

Paul Hermans place is just a little further north and well worth the few
extra miles. Not spit and polish but it's all about pots. Big woodfire kiln
guarded by friendly dogs. I was there for a much too short visit while
traveling this spring and had a good time.

Dale and Sally Pappas operate Peavine Pottery from their home (decidedly NO=
T
your average home operation), check out their website www.peavinepottery.co=
m
Dale was a great host and I was there as he was firing his gas kiln. We
enjoyed coffee and talked about woodturning (a shared interest) and turning
pots. Dales studio is a military clean operation - what would you expect
from a retired Marine? Check him out and please tell him I said Hi.

"The Big Ceramics Store" is located in Reno and if there is anything you
just have to buy, they have it in stock. No showroom but you can pick it up
at their warehouse at the pickup window.

Have fun,

Howdy - I'm going to be driving from San Diego to Reno, up the 395
corridor for Thanksgiving. Pretty much just driving through, but time
to stop at a gallery or a pottery along the way. I'll appreciate any
recommendations. Thanks.

For a real treat, keep going north another 35 miles and go see both Paul
Herman and Joe Winter - two very capable full-time potters. Paul is an
active participant in this list. Paul and Joe live about ten miles apart,
and co-fire a big anagama that is located at Paul's. It would be well wort=
h
your while to visit both. You can contact Paul at
potterpaul@frontiernet.net, and Joe at handsinfire@rtci.net.

Jackson,

You are welcome to stop by great Basin Pottery, 35 miles north of
Reno, as Vince noted. My Holiday Show is starting November 27th so
there will hopefully be a lot of people here that day. My wood firing
partner Joe Winter is seven miles away in Nevada and will be having
his show open the same day.

Let me know if you would like to travel up here for a visit.

Best wishes,

Paul Herman
