Two years ago we added another electric kiln with controller
to the assortment we have at Linfield College. I chose a=3D20
Bailey model as it had the spring loaded lid, is well-built and
is backed by Bailey's well known warranties. Cone-Art is the=3D20
manufacturer and has a good reputation for quality. I think they
were originally Tucker's Pottery.
A year into service as strictly a bisque kiln (06) we began to
have relays sticking. After replacing several (I good at it)=3D20
Jim Bailey had
an upgraded set of relays sent from ConeArt to me. The original design
had one relay for each ring of double elements. The new one doubled
the number so two relays handle each set. Ian at ConeArt was very
helpful with photos and diagrams via email and phone so it was a snap
to make the changeover. All this was after warranty expiration and=3D20
two plus years of heavy use! In case any are thinking of getting
a new kiln, I recommend the Bailey. Backing their product is the sign
of a well run company.
