I am searching for a cone 5-8 porcelain claybody recipe that is easy to
throw and one you like and that I can mix in my soldner

Hi Llewellyn,

My advice is to pick a cone and make a body for that temperature.

Expecting a clay to work well over that range is asking too much.

If you want to make your own I can get you started.

Here's a recipe to get you started, intended to mature at cone 6. I would
mix the ingredients dry in your Soldner before adding water. The recipe use=
s
a particularly light burning ball clay that I helped develop. It's best to
gently sift the Veegum content into a five gallon bucket of hot water and
allow it to disperse and expand into the water. Then mix the heck out of it
to help even more to disperse it into the water before adding it to the dry
mixture. This will greatly enhance the throwing capabilities of this body.
Please let us know how the body works for you.
