I wonder what a few chunks of copper ore would do. I'm thinking that
there would be some really neat flashing.

Firebrick could fill up some of the space - and this would allow for
slower cooling which could make some really nice things happen to your
glaze.

my local rocks - mostly granite - had the "black" parts melt out as a reall=
