A question about C5 clay vs C6 glazes brought this to mind.
Laguna clay makes C-5 B-mix in both a throwing clay, and a slip casting
clay. The two are almost interchangeable, which is nice if you make
things to mix and match. Slip cast pots with wheel thrown lid knobs,
handles, etc. They work well together. little cracking.
I have also used these two together in reclaim for throwing clay - but
not slip clay. There are differences that allow it to work one way but
not the other. Modest amounts of the slip clay don't seem to upset the
throwing body when mixed well.
