There have been a bunch of posts on this subject. I really haven't had time
to view them all. But one person at least was asking if there weren't some
better quality alternatives. I've been quite happy with my Foredom flexible
shaft grinding tool. I bought the tool back before I was a potter for
carving in stone, ivory, and various jewelry tasks. It has served me for us=
e
in clay more than 40 years. I checked with a search on "Foredom flexible
shaft grinder", and they are still in business.

At Bennington Potters,
10,00 pieces of clay .... a week....
we went through 3 Dremel tools in a year....the Foredom lasted 10 years or =
more...
flexible shafts work,....
costly, but worth the price.
Good tools.
