Paul Soldner changed my life. In Memoriam from Guangzhen Zhou
It was the mid-1990=3D92s when I was in San Jose State=3D2C Paul Soldner ha=

en invited by Stan Welsh for a lecture and workshop. I had the chance to in=

terview him and was little nervous. He was very nice=3D3B he answered my qu=
es=3D
tions and provided me with five slides of his works. I got the article =3D9=

While reading through his written materials=3D2C I learned that he had inve=

ed and improved many ceramic equipments=3D2C such as the electrical kiln=3D=

ottery wheel and clay mixer. It encouraged me to establish a ceramic tool b=

usiness in Northern California. Paul Soldner changed my life.=3D20
I was lucky. As a graduate student in San Jose State=3D2C I had the chance =
to=3D
visit Peter Voulkos=3D92s studio in Berkeley and met many other great arti=

uable thing for teaching my students in Shanghai today.

Art of Greece and Rome=3D2C the Original Source of Western Culture and Art
In late 2010=3D2C my family and I took a trip to Europe. We took a cruise c=

from Civitavecchia and Rome=3D2C Italy and stopped at Savona=3D2C Tunis=3D=

While visiting the Vatican museum=3D2C I was shocked by the numerous marble=
f=3D
igure sculptures made before Christ and during the Renaissance. I saw sculp=

tures by Michelangelo=3D2C Barberini=3D2C and other masters of the Renaissa=
nce.=3D
I saw some of Europe=3D92s most historical ceramic pieces.
One day=3D2C I mistakenly went a into =3D93museum=3D94 with a lot of cerami=

s along the stairways. After entering=3D2C I was told that it was the munic=

That was my third trip to Europe=3D2C but it was still a very impressive tr=
