Holy Smoke!

Oops - poor choice of words!

Rimas, talk about chemical addiction!! I do NOT envy the struggle you=3D2=

have . It's a really tough road to travel. Glad to know you are still=3D20
working on it. I agree with you on the limits of Big Brother - but I=3D20
really hate that the smokes manufacturers got a way with - and still do=3D2=

so far as I know - chemically treating tobacco to make it even more=3D20
addictive. I don't smoke. Never have. But both of my parents did, and my =
=3D

Dad had emphysema really bad in his old age as a result. I grew up in a=3D2=
0
house where the smoke just floated on the air. Favorite thing was for my =
=3D

folks to blow smoke rings and us kids would put our hands through the=3D20
rings. Who knew back then the damage being done - to my folks or to us=3D20
kids. Prol'ly why I suffered so much respiratory distress growing up -=3D20
and prol'ly why I still have problems that surface occasionally.

I hope you continue your efforts to kick the habit. It's worth it.

Well, as a Commercial exhibitor, I get there a day before the Show opens, t=
o
set up, and, usually, I stay a day or two or three after the Show has
closed.

I actually smoke about 2/3rds of a Pack-a-Day...maybe a little more if
I am nervous or excited or yammering a lot.

What happens when at the 'nceca', is that I would leave my Cigarettes in th=
e
Car, in my Room, or at my Booth, or whatever, so, I learned to make sure to
have redundant packs. Spare pack in my Jacket Pocket...spare Pack in my
Trouser Pocket, spare Pack in-the-Car, etc. Since usually, there is never
anywhere handy to buy
any if I misplace or run out.

Plus, when taking Cigarette Breaks, other people always have run out or lef=
t
their's somewhere else, so I give away quite a few.

And or Street People wandering up to bum-a-Smoke, too...

I have always just smoked while I am working, or while I am doing whatever =

Ohhhhhh...oye...

Sometimes I run out at like 3:00 A.M., and, just do not feel like driving t=
o
7-11...Lol...so yeah, I usually keep an emergency little pack of Rolling
Papers tucked away somewhere, and, just roll up the fragrant, juicy little
Butts to tide me over till morning and
Sunshine and the mood to go to 7-11...

Kinda humerous in it's way...

One reason why a sensible person NEVER cleans out the Ashtrays impetuously.

Couldn't tell who it was in the thread was talking about stashing =3D

I'm much better now, need them almost never since I found a great =3D

risk of not having one at hand so, still stash them everywhere.

Hi Russel,

Years ago, various special Cigarettes were available for Asthmatics.

I used to have a pack, dating from I dunno, late 1890s or so, which were a
blend of Belladonna and, Sweet Virginia Tobacco.

Both are in the same Botanical family of course, the
Solanaceae...

I donated them to a Museum in the early 1970s, so, cannot reference it now
but from memory.

It was an unopened Pack, and, I never did try one to see how I would like
it...probably were pretty alright though, if I had to take a guess...though=
,
they might have dried out a little or oxidized or whatever by the time I ha=
d
them.

Ventolin, I would guess is a
(RS)-4-[2-(tert-butylamino)-1-hydroxyethyl]-2-(hydroxymethyl)phenol, and,
not a friendly, yummy tasting blend of
(8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-3-yl)
3-hydroxy-2-phenylpropanoate, and, 3-[(2S)-1-methylpyrrolidin-2-yl]pyridine=
.

Oh well...

What's the Homeopath doing which is helping?

There's a lot of Asthma out there...I still have a little bout now and then
myself.

I think hydration is likely a typically unassayed factor, or, I mean, not
being adequately hydrated, is ( with me anyway)...among others.

Love,

Phil

Hi Russel
Yes! I, too, would like to know what your homeopath recommends as i smoke =
a
pack a day. And often, find myself gasping for breath! Now, mind you, i
don't want to quite smoking ! Just want to get the total amount smoked dow=
n
to one or two per day.
The telephone always does me in! The minute it rings, the automatic
response is to light a cig. Then, another and another as the conversation
continues.
I say -- rather than give up smoking -- we should ban telephones !
