spring flat top kiln building advice

Hi All again, I finally got the nerve to email you all today. I'm
going to try to
build the Minnesota flat top kiln this spring in my yard. I had an
Alpine updraft
kiln and I hated it so I got rid of the 3200 pound monster and I'm
ready to build something
else. Why the flat top? because I have very limited ability to figure
out math problems and I fell that
I'm pretty much alone doing the kiln building. although my husband is
the opposite of me, a really smart guy who can weld as he says, I
can't rely on him
because he works so hard without me asking for help. I do have tons of
potter
friends in the area but none would dare build a kiln and even though
they
would help, I need to explain it all to them and do the lifting. I do
hope the
flat top is good for reds because that is my primary goal and then
going to cone 10 is the next.
We have a geil kiln at work and I love it, the only problem with that
is, it needs a really
good shed otherwise spiders get in that system and I'm afraid it would
rust. My shed
is a quanzit hut."sorry for the spelling error".
another question is, Mels book has the plans for a flat top but my
kiln shelves which
I'm keeping are silicon carbide 11 by 28 and I wanted to build the
kiln around them because
they were very expensive and they are like new. Gas lines, permits slab
are all in place.
The brian power is missing. I would also be willing to negotiate
something for help.
Three days is what it seems to take to build these? Any advice is
greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,Gina Mars

I can send you a chart for a sprung arch if you like.
I have the AP Green brick book with the charts in it. If you design =3D
around your shelves, as Mel says,=3D20
that is the way to go.
