Hey All, Now that I have ideas on where to get non toxic skins, I
thinking about how I'm going
to stretch the skin and glue it to the ceramic. body. I think each
student will have a slightly
different width around their piece. I'm trying to borrow a copy of Mud
to Music from someone
around here. I've enjoyed all the drum stories, even Mel's drumming
neighbor. Who new?

Tying instead of gluing allows for tightening at need,
and replacement as well. The drumhead is laced to
a strap that runs around the drum lower down. The
effect can be quite decorative, too. Gluing is easier,
however. Be sure you don't glaze the glue zone!
