Try sharing some photos of the work. If you don't have a place to put
them, send them to me and I'll put them on the web.

Good luck!

Hello -

I am firing stoneware to a preprogrammed ramp of a Slow Cone 5 firing on =

Thanks - Holli

Electric firing cannot affect the color of clay one =3D20
way or another. It can only vitrify it. Nothing you=3D20
or the kiln can do in the firing will change he color.
That's just the color your clay gets at that temperature.
If you want a lighter clay color after firing, you will=3D20
have to choose a different clay.

As for glaze 'burning out', that doesn't happen. Glaze=3D20
can get more melted or less melted depending on=3D20
temperature, but it can't burn away. My guess is that=3D20
it was simply applied too thinly. This is the single=3D20
most common issue with beginning glaze use. Try=3D20
putting it on much mre thickly next time. It's a good idea=3D20
to do small tests, with thicker and thinner applications=3D20
of the same glaze side-by-side, to get the best idea of=3D20
the optimum application before you start glazing any=3D20
actual work.
