I did ^1 soda firing on Terra Cotta when I was at the Bray.
I liked it.
Probably not quite as hard on the brick but still has some effect.=3D20

Eric...
Both Paul Soldner and Rick Berman did work with low temperature salt firing=
,
and a google search will likely turn up lots of information. Here is a lin=
k
to an Article Rick Berman wrote in Clay Times:
http://www.ceramicstoday.com/articles/salku.htm . Here is Mr. Soldner's
article: http://www.paulsoldner.com/essays/lowfire.html .
Berman's article addresses just how badly the salt eats at the kiln, even a=
t
low temperatures. Soldner's website has pictures of his low-fired salt
work.
Enjoy your exploration.

I did a bit of low temp salting using Lithium chloride at Anderson Ranch =

back in the day('70's).
Did not seem to damage the kiln in subsequent fires to C10.
