I have used the Orton Kiln Vent with paraffin for about 10 years. I've had
no problems mechanically. I do agree with Orton's advice about drilling an
extra couple of holes (helped a lot) and I also crack a window. The result?
You can smell the paraffin, but it's not bad. Certainly tolerable. I used
solid galvanized dryer venting pipe to exhaust the fumes, held together with
duct tape. Works fine. No problems at all. I'd recommend the Orton product
to anybody. It cost a fair amount, but as usual, you get what you pay for.

You will get longer life out of the vent unit if you paint the impellor
with acid resistant paint. Available @ most hardware stores.
