I would second everyone's recommendations about going with non-flammable =
=3D
materials. A wooden roof and trusses, even when there is plenty of =3D
clearance, can create problems over time. What happens is, the heat =3D
from the kiln dries the wood extremely, and as such, lowers the =3D
combustion point of that wood. =3D20
When I had my kiln out in the country of New York, and needed cover, I =3D
built a metal pole barn (pretty cheap) and replaced a number of the =3D
wooden trusses over and near the kiln with angle iron. Easy to do, and =3D
over the course of more than 600 firings, I never had an incident.
Good luck!
