strontium crystal matt?

Hi Randy - yes it can - I have tested it and it comes out quite smooth. =
=3D
I have also tested other glazes from the book and many of them work well =
=3D
at cone 6 - I was really surprised. One is Ranch Butter which makes a =3D
great liner and so we can use it for electric or gas and it does not =3D
craze. There were many more like Currie 10 and Johnston Temmoku, =3D
Bailey's Red - obviously they mostly end up just mainly a shiny brown in =
=3D
electric at cone 6 unlike in gas. Also Watercolour Blue from the book is =
=3D
a very shiny green at 6.

Hi Randy - Str Cry Magic (I think pretty similar to the matt ) is in John
Britt's book - there are a lot of versions out there - I find most are
almost the same - it's just that some include the 17% or so Titianium as
part of the 100% and that changes the quantities for all the rest. Let me
know if you do not have the book.

Randy,

Just Googled it and found Brian Searle at:

Strontium Crystal Magic is a lithium glaze of limitless possibility devel=

oped by=3D20
Steven Hill based on a yellow crystal matte glaze by Tom Coleman. By itse=

yields a dull matte white or matte gold surface (depending on whether yel=

iron oxide is added). As a base, it stratifies other glazes by fluxing ou=

t shiny=3D20
glazes causing them to run and pool, while pushing satin and matte glazes=

towards the flat side with micro-crystal details. I, like both Tom Colema=

Steven Hill, spray SCM in combination with other glazes to create the var=

The formula for SCM I use is:
Custer Feldspar 40
Whiting 15
Strontium Carbonate 11
Tile 6 Kaolin 13
3124 Frit 4
Lithium Carbonate 4
Titanium Dioxide 12
Bentonite 2=3D20
Optional Yellow Iron Oxide 2
