I was astonished that two recommends were NOT made. They came to my =3D
mind but then what do I know? (Not being modest. I know little about =3D
kiln repair,)
How come casting a new lid was not suggested? How come removing kiln =3D
from bottom , using bottom as new lid, and old lid, cemented up, as =3D
bottom?
And..years ago already the New Hampshire Scheir kiln plan suggested =3D
grooving brick with a rasp. It worked well...

good suggestions all, but our kiln has an element in the floor. would
