How about layering glazes to learn about Variegation and Interaction.
Students need a number of 6*6 (150 mm sq) bisque tiles of a selection of
clays. white, coloured and dark clay. and a number of 4 in dia bisqued
bowls.
Apply stipes of glaze to overlap and crossweave several glazes. Multiple
dip the bowls to an internal diameter indexing round in 90 degree or 60
degree steps.
Students keep pictorial record of their individual trials and make a
photographic record of the fired results.
