For anyone in the area of the west coast of BC, or planning to visit here
soon, a message from the Tozan Society:

Are you aware that February 7,1998 is the Tozan "DRAGON FEAST"?
Bowen Park Auditorium (500 Bowen Road Nanaimo)

The Night is fast approaching! The Tozan Kiln was a central Vancouver
Island community project, which raised Nanaimo & area to international fame
in Oct. 1995. That was when the world's second Tozan Kiln, outside of Asia,
was built right here on Vancouver Island on ground supplied to the Tozan
Cultural Society by Malaspina College/University Nanaimo Campus. Since
that time the Tozan Kiln has been used by hundreds of potters from around
the world, and the general public, as an educational facility.

This may be the only event in fundraising history where you receive more
than you paid to get in !
The ticket is $100 for the first person and $75 for the second individual
and each person will receive:
A seven (7) piece Japanese style dinner set (of your choice, which you pick
when your number is called,) sets are by potters from across North America
and are valued up to $500 each.
Plus you get a five-(5) course Japanese style dinner served on your new set.
You will be enthralled by one of Canada's foremost Japanese flute performers;
Nanaimo performers Mark Bottomley & Camille Miller will entertain you;
You can participate in a formal Japanese Tea Ceremony led by Kazuko Nagai
of the Nanaimo Seven Potatoes Japanese Cultural Society;
Receive a chance at the Japanese Flower arrangement on your table by Keiko
Bottomley;
Free chances on doorprizes by some of North American's best potters;
During a silent auction you can bid on extraordinary work by potters such
as Robin Hopper of Victoria, Don Reitz of Arizona, Yukio Yamamoto of Japan
and many more.
Take a chance on a ticket for other dinner sets!

Be there for 5:30, to view the dinner sets. By 6:30 you will be choosing
your set, and at 7:30, dining on your
set!

The Tozan Kiln, here in Canada, is an important international asset to our
country and our island communities. We invite all citizens and friends of
Vancouver
Island and British Columbia to attend, and if you are unable to come - tell
a friend about this exciting evening event.
