slip the shim out for a moment...throw a pot and see if you can tell the di=

fference. Won't take an ounce of extra skill. As with Mel, it's all in the =

head.

An aside, many years ago I made some pots and painted them with acrylics--c=
=3D
alled them room temperature
glazes. A glaze doesn't have to be a certain temperature to be a glaze--unl=
=3D
ess it's sugar on a ham. My latest
pot, BTW, is a brick--but not painted. Will post on my blog for examination=
=3D
and inspiration. nils
