I made a rather delicate teapot for an online challenge, and afterward,
someone wanted to buy it.
So, I need to get the dang thing safely from California to New Brunswick.

Does anyone have any packing suggestions?
I'm thinking a combination of a box around the head, and expanding foam
around the body, but that's just theoretical, and I could use some
practical input if any of you have any thoughts.

Thanks!

Go to Staples or other store and buy a roll of bubble pak with small
bubbles, and also get a roll of the stretchy (not gummed) tape about
4 inches wide ( made of very thin vinyl plastic I think . It is used
to bind stuff together - stretch wrap - and it only sticks to
itself. ).
Wrap the ceramics in a couple of layers of bubble wrap and then bind
it firmly with several layers of stretch wrap. It would be a good
idea to stuff some styro foam under the horns and tail to brace them
before wrapping

Put the pot in a corrugated cardboard box that is a loose fit and
stuff plastic peanuts in the surrounding space so it is not ratteling
around . Get an outer box at least 4 inches bigger in all three
dimensions and put the inner box in it . pack the space around
,under and over with plastic
peanuts and seal up the box with shipping tape and you are good to
go as long as a truck does not run over it.
I have carried ceramics packed in just the bubble wrap plus stretch
wrap in checked baggage on trips to China and to NCECA and never had
any breakage as yet. They did not have horns and ears however . I
worry about those breaking off.
Good luck

You might be able to get the bubble wrap for free from Sprouts stores.
(My wife works at one.) Many stores besides Sprouts hate to throw away
the bubble wrap, but they don't reuse it themselves. So they are happy
to give it away.

At Paragon, we don't buy bubble wrap. We reuse it from shipments we receive=
.
