advice on mounting oxyprobe in mft ^6

I am finally at the point financially that I can pay for an Oxyprobe out =
=3D
of
pocket. I need advice on where to install the Oxyprobe for best =3D
readings.
Through research, I have seen where it should be mounted vertically even =
=3D
at
cone 6. My concern is that I designed my propane fired (2 Ward 750 =3D
burners)
MFT with a fiber lid that opens up. The lid is 6=3D94 of compressed fiber =
=3D
(no
bricks) in an angle iron frame, hinged on the back. Counter weights =3D
make it
fairly easy to raise and lower, so I have no plans on changing it at =3D
this
time. But, with the fragility of the Oxyprobe, I don=3D92t feel =3D
comfortable
installing it in the moveable lid. That said, where on the walls would =3D
be
the best location for it? The kiln fires very evenly, I have my =3D
pyrometer
center front, a little over half-way up the wall. =3D20

I have fired reduction 6 or 8 times before, decent results, but not
consistent enough. My oxidation fires are all within =3DBD cone top to =3D
bottom,
and front to back.

My walls are IFB with an additional 3=3D94 of fiber covered with Stainless
steel. Interior dimensions are 30"h x 31.5"d x 36"w. I have posted =3D
photos
of the kiln on my website if you want to look at it, click on =3D93studio
happenings=3D94 on the right side of the front page and it will get you =3D
there. =3D20

We are getting an oxyprobe at school to install in our Geil kiln.
Contacted Paul Geil and he suggested location in back wall about height of
front spyhole, about 4" above floor.
Perhaps in your kiln at centered at front bottom portion of chamber.
