A good article on flameware is in Studio Potter .. Studio Potter, Volume

If you look up Ron Probst:Flameware on Google,
(http://www.studiopotter.org/articles/?art=3D3Dart0017) the entire =3D
article
is on the net. Bodies, glazes etc. =3D20

Many of the formulas I see on flameware are actually Ron's original
formula.

Glazes require a lot of testing to get glazes that are not muddy and
dirty looking on flameware. The body affects the glaze....

The Spodumene was quite different 40 years ago. Foote Mineral produced
the Spodumene used for Flameware. It fired at a beautiful orange by
itself. When a fusion button was made of it, the button gew nearly
twice the size of the thimble size fusion button. I have always used
Coors porcelain crucibles to form the buttons.

If pots were fired too close to the shelf above, the pots can grow in
height and stick to the upper shelf...many issues with flameware....
