nicer food presentation - cast iron or ceramic?

Ceramic - no question about it. Why do you think Corning Ware comes in
pretty forms?

I've got a soup tureen shaped like a bunny and I use it. It's a
commercial piece and is only for serving - not cooking. The soup pot
on the stove is fine for when it's just Jim and I, but guests get to
see the tureen.

I am convinced that the best bread is made in a ceramic bread pan.
I've been making bread for 39 years, and I think I have at least a
working knowledge of what I'm doing when I make bread.

If I make a pie - it's in a glass pie pan. Metal won't make as nice a
crust. Note to self: make a ceramic pie pan. Or even better - make a
mica clay pie pan.

BTW - although traditionally the mica clay pots were not glazed, I
find glazing the inside makes for an easy cleanup.

Deb, I really like my earthenware pie plates. They are wire cut on
the bottom and I coat them with redart terra sig, which is a lot like
teflon as far as non-stick goes.
