A very kind ClayArter pointed out to me that my math was wrong on how =3D
much clay Tony's students went through. 100 students using 1300 lbs of =3D
clay would only be 13 lbs each!
But Tony writes he has 8 students--and they use all that clay.
Well! =3D20
Tony also writes they make stuff good enough to sell, and raise big =3D
bucks for big projects. After how much time do you let them keep stuff =3D
to fire and sell, Tony?
I had thought Tony would include production throwing etc in his program, =
=3D
but this is big time beyond my imagination. I have, however, known =3D
Sheridan grads...and it is a serious serious school. Bravo again....
I still think the students should learn to design and mix a clay body. =
=3D
One does not really know where and what in the future. I am thinking of =
=3D
Cardew and his struggles; my own difficulties fifty years ago, designing =
=3D
a body in Brazil--from=3D20
unknown-to-me materials. The students may not end up with a boughten =3D
body at hand...And, I also think, that designing and mixing one's own =3D
makes one a better critic of ready-to-use on the market.
