Sadly, I won't be able to visit Asheville, but was wondering if anyone
had suggestions for potteries to visit in the Raleigh/Durham area?

Not too far west of Raleigh/Durham is Seagrove.
Seagrove is certainly a pottery destination.
I visited a few years back and it took me 2 days to visit most of the
potteries, even then didn't see them all.
