Congratulations and all good wishes on your new "job", project, mission =3D
and like that.

The following recipe -which I call Karen's Clear, as given me by Karen =3D
Stevens in Charleston, Sc...is kinda wonderful.

It is based on "several" Colemanite, later Gerstley Borate glazes, and =3D
it can be/is adaptable to other themps.

Recipe Name: karen clear c.04

55.6 Frit--Ferro 3134
23.8 Kaolin--EPK
20.6 Flint

.303 Na2O
.003 K2O
.002 MgO
.691 CaO

.287 Al2O3
.604 B2O3

3.069 SiO2

10.7 Ratio
72.6 Exp

Calculations by GlazeMasterT
------------------------------------
It appears and reappears in different proportions at cone 5 and 6.

One of its virtues is high clay content which makes it easy to use, =3D
apply etc.

I would make some blend tests to get it right for the clay I am using. =3D
At the temp I want.

This base would allow you to work with only three ingredients....Add =3D
opacifier to taste.,

As to dangers from glaze. You know as well as I...but here, once more, =3D
I repeat my qualms about any lithium or lithium containing materials.

Some colorants are toxic--but I have no idea how dangerous. Suggest =3D
your checking them out with Monona Rossol at ACTS. =3D20
