I met a Texan school principal at the Buffalo airport where we shared a bus
ride to Niagara Falls. As always I chatted with her to find out what she wa=
s
doing in Canada so that I could tell her things to do and see. She was
meeting her Houston cop husband who was here with a bunch of other cops bik=
e
riding for Leukemia. I invited her to come by my pottery so that I could
tell them which wineries to go to and where to eat. I am the goodwill
ambassador for the region.
She had just interviewed 4 candidates for the art dept of her school. One
was a ceramics person. I told her she should hire that woman. Today they
dropped by bought some pots, had a tour and I sent them on a good afternoon
full of things to do. She told me she hired the Ceramics woman. You never
know who you'll meet and how much influence you can have just by being
friendly.
