that was a metaphor. lyle would never hurt a soul.
deb thurman was wondering if he really got angry.
he was known for stomping around and throwing down
his tool belt.

it was all bluster...those old characters loved to
show off, bluster....`gd it mel, that wall is a 1/8th of an
inch off...`...as if anyone could ever tell...

i loved working with lyle as he was such a character
that i would be snorting through my nose all day long.

some thought he was always angry...but, he loved
playing that game.

but, he sure did not like double talk, pc...he just
said what was on his mind. `no pussyfooting`.

as long as i had a double brandy, with
sink water at the end of the day waiting for him...he was
a happy guy. smoked lucky strikes and had a water
glass of brandy.

he could not figure out why i did not drink booze.
`mel, gd it...how can you sit and watch me drink? strange`.

i know he would have gotten out of his bed at 3 a.m.
if my daughter were to call him with a serious problem.
he thought she was an angel.
(well, she is.)

lyle had like 18 restored john deere tractors.
perfection in craft. does one wonder why i loved
that guy.
