updated sun 31 jul 11

pdp1 on wed 27 jul 11

Windows XP

Outlook Express

Toshiba 'Tecra' ( Lap Top )=3D20

Had a few hundred emails in my Inbox, many from the last few days I had =3D
not replied to yet and had importance.

Went to 7-11 for some Cigarettes, came home, and all the contents of my =3D
inbox were gone, nothing there...I re-started, no change.

All other OE Folders appear undisturbed/intact.

Is there a way to retriev them???

Where would they have gone?

Are they accessible from my Server? ( Earthlink )

Heeeeeeeeelp?

Thanks!

Phil,

Look in your deleted message folder in OE to see if they are there. You can
move them back into you Inbox. I hope that you do not have OE set to empty
the deleted folder, when you exit the program.

You may be able to retrieve you messages if you have OE look for a file
called backup.pst. If you can find this file than you can import your
messages back into OE. Question, are all you your contacts still in your
address book? If so, when you import the backup.pst file, then your contact=
s
will be duplicated.

If you have been archiving your message you may be able to retrieve you
message. There may be another way to retrieve you messages, and that is to
trick your mail server into sending your messages again by using a new
program; however, this method may end up sending out of you message for the
past several months, or if could send all of the old messages that have not
been deleted from the server. There are several freeware email programs out
there that you can use. To name a few, there is a now a free version of
Eudora OSE, Mozilla Thunderbird, you can go to www.downloads.com and do a
search for email programs and then you can see which one that you would lik=
e
to try. If you are able to retrieve your messages through one of these
programs, then you should be able to import them back into OE.

I would take a look at this program first Outlook Express Backup, it is abl=
e
to search for OE's hidden files.
