selling pots - or selling art?

My rule is, if you display it on a shelf it's pottery. If you display it =
=3D
on a pedestal it's art.

However, a mentor of mine once answered my query of whether my work was
pottery or art by a very simple instruction. "Consider what you think the
highest the price should be, double that price. IF it sells, it was art. If
it does not sell cut the price by one half. If it sells, you are a potter.
If it does not sell - give it to someone who loves you. We all are special
to somebody."
