Hi Meryl,
I think something is amiss with that Shipping Quote - it sounds much too
high.
How large and how heavy is the Parcel?

Hi,
Please help me out. I have priced the shipping of one of my fragile ceramic
teapots doubled boxed, and UPS is saying that the cost for shipping this
particular box from Maine to the UK will be $431.00 which does not include
duties and taxes.
Does anyone have another suggestion for shipping work overseas that is
reliable, safe, and more practical in price?
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciate.
Thank You,
Meryl Ruth, Porcelain Grace

USPS, it'll take a couple weeks to get there though. I'm not sure of the
scale of your teapots...I sent a teapot and a couple cups to the UK from
Texas a few months back and it was around $35 I think.

Meryl...
Check with the post office. I have shipped a fair number of items overseas=
,
including some very heavy parcels, and the post office was always
significantly cheaper than anyone else. For example, an 8 pound package of
up to 79 united inches (length plus girth) can be shipped to the UK for $61
if you pay online, $67 at the post office.
Duties and taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the purchaser, and will
depend on which box they ask you to tick on the customs declaration.
For domestic shipping of larger parcels, I have found that FedEx is far
cheaper than either UPS or the post office. Your mileage may vary.
All the best.

Meryl,
I have some experience with this, both shipping to Australia and receiving
for a show I am curating.
First, I recommend USPS. you can do most of it on line but have to drop it
at a post office with the customs documents.
Second, fit your pot into a box no more than 79 inches length plus girth.
You will be able to ship this priority international. It will get there in =
a
week or two. Bigger than this and your only option is global express, which
is much more like what you are getting from UPS.
Hope this helps.

Try Interparcel (www.intrrparcel.com) they are essentially a courier compan=

, but they get big discounts from the major players in the industry which =

hey pass on. I use them to send pots out of the UK and have used them to im=

While no carrier is cheap internationally, I prefer to use someone like the=
m=3D
because the goods get there quicker and usually arrive intact!

I ship successfully to Europe as well as Asia via USPS. I try to use their =
Flat Rate Boxes when possible and single box with a foam cavity, 2" of foam=

Hello Meryl;
http://postcalc.usps.gov/
USPS postage calculator. It takes about 7-10 business days and NO
delivery confirmation for your buyer. I have no experience with their
insurance system regarding breakage and refunds.
Best regards
