Lili, you've done a great job explaining why I use white clay. The
glazes come out better. Or maybe I should say I like the glazes better
becuse I like bright, clear colors.
For those of us who have settled on one type of clay, testing glazes
to make sure the glaze does what we think or want it to do is
critical. If we make our own glazes, we make glazes that are pleasing
to us on the type of clay we have chosen.
I think those who develop glazes for others to use DO test on several
bodies - and show the test results in the books.

White slip works equally well, but it give you more choice and variety.
