Hi,
I am interested in buying a used motor attachment for a Randall kickwheel.
I can't afford one new and was wondering if anyone out there had one they
don't need or could recommend a suitable alternative. Any suggestions would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Odette

Its not too hard to build your own Randall motor unit> Just look at the on
Randall makes and copy it. Use angle iron for the rail and a flat piece of
metal for the motor attachment. The motor can be purchased from a junk store
quite cheaply , and you can pick up a rubber roller from Sears Repair (the kind
they use to drive cloths dryers). The spring is a little bit more difficult,
but a Good Hardware store will carry them ( I have had to replace mine several
times over 30 years), and that mounts over a bolt. The switch is a normally
closed, plunger type you can get from Grangers Catalog. (In other words the
switch is "on" when the pressure is released when you press down on the motor
plate by pushing on the 6" foot pedal you have welded to the motor plate. Oh
yes, you will need a strong hinge on one side so the motor will travel up and
down. This is probably not as clear as it could be, if you email me at
ptjay@fyi.net I'll send you a drawing.
From Western Pa where we saw the sun for 15 min. today WOW!
