after following the recent discussion about fast firing, I decided to try i=
t
mel's way this week in my old DD14 for a load of cone 10 stoneware
BreadPots.
instead of gradual increases of gas, i let it rip full on after a very shor=
t
preheat. mild back pressure from top and bottom door peeps i backed off the
gas near the end of the firing. i did a mild reduction for the body though
this kiln tends toward reduction on its own.
the firing was to cone 10 in 4.5 hours. all the eggs in this basket were
fine and good! efficient, fun, thanks mel. no caps in your honor today.
