Subject: making slides
Hi. I used to make thin sections of rock and clay...you need to use 2-part
epoxy, keeping the material hot while you apply copious amounts to it to
soak in. If one side is more or less flat...you can attach a glass slide t=
o
the flat side to stabilize the clay, then cut off the remainder of the
material to make a second flat side that will be the side you attach a
second glass slide to (that will be your final product after you eventually
cut or grind off the first slide.
If you don't have a flat side, this might not work, but can you make one?
How crumbly is it, and how much would you lose if you tried?
Stabilize exterior in epoxy first, then cut?
