Welcome to Attend my solo show of functional jars and winged vessels. If y=

The gallery owner has provided great advertizing and 4 star accomodations f=
or us here...and transported my 55 works from JingDeZhen in JiangXi Provinc=
e. They made a beautiful exhibit catalog too.
My pieces range from small textured porcelain covered jars (15-25 cm) up t=
o tall winged vessels at 70 cm.
Yesterday I talked with over 200 students about clay... at the local high s=
chool....then did demos on the wheel. On Oct 3rd I will demo for the galle=
ry owner's ceramics school.

JiangMen was threatened with a typhoon...but it fizzled out on Sept 29. Thi=
s week is National Day Holiday in China, so it is the perfect time to visit=
this warm city near the South China Sea.
The food here is very nice..sweeter than in JiangXi Province, where the foo=
d is pretty spicy. Seafood is adbundant here and they drink red/black tea,=
instead of green tea. Some folks here still speak Cantonese language...whi=
ch has 9 tones, whereas Mandarin has only 4 tones. I still struggle with Ma=
ndarin, but it gets better.
