perfect smoke stack

i have developed over the years a
really efficient smoke stack.

i buy a piece of scrap/(slight dents) spiral pipe.
it is the pipe now used for a/c and heat dist in
all sorts of commercial venues.

i have been using like ten- twelve inch pipe and then
adding kaowool riser sleeves. they come in
one foot by any diameter. i dip the ends
of the sleeves in itc 100, then spray in the inside
with a lite coat of itc 100. as i drop the sleeves
down the pipe they sort of squish together and form
a solid mass. (no gaps to burn the pipe.)

one of the big issues is weight. when you finish the
pipe system...perhaps ten feet in length you can
just pick it up, or have a partner pick up one end and
carry it to the site...maybe 40 lbs.

stand it on the brick stack of your flue and done.
add some wire supports if need be...and you have
a tight, long lasting stack. in most cases you can
put your hand on the pipe during firing. no heat until
later in the firing.
and, it is a really safe pipe to run through a roof or ceiling.
(you will still need to insulate around wooden rafters etc. but
not nearly as much as when you use bare pipe. (note the word
`red hot`.

this system will last for years. they just don't seem to
wear out. it is the best stack there is...bar none.
