I have an upstairs (home) office computer where I do website, IT, business =

nd chatter communications. Also a free-floating new laptop and an older lap=
t=3D
op, scanner and printer in the graphics area of my fairly large 3/4 basemen=
t=3D
sculpture studio.=3D20

I use the studio computer for reference, research and miscellaneous breaks.=
A=3D
ll devices are networked, backed up and to some extent synchronized. I take=
p=3D
hotographs of work in progress and turn these into movies. Sometimes it see=
m=3D
s I could dispense with the final product altogether.=3D20

I use clay and plaster but my studio isn't nearly as dusty as an average po=
t=3D
tery. Still, something, perhaps the damp, disabled my long-working twenty-y=
e=3D
ar old laserwiter within a year. I keep things covered now mostly.

Where do you do your personal computing, glaze calculation, research materi=
a=3D
ls-ordering, design, communication? Do you have set routines? How is techn=
o=3D
logy integrated with your studio practice?

Kathy,

Computing,ordering, and glaze designing, etc. are done in my house which is=
only about 50 feet from my studio. I used to keep an old desktop computer =
in the studio but it stopped working about a year ago and was replaced with=
a small laptop that I bring into the studio as needed or wanted. I have a =
phone in the studio but rarely use it.

Warm regards,
June
