<> I DON'T KNOW THE ATTACHMENT WILL COME THROUGH OR NOT.
Richard Burkhart from San Diego state sent me the plans for a Onggi
style kick wheel. One was used at the Phoenix NCECA and it was a really
good wheel. A Korean potter used it there and made some large coil and
throw jars on it. He was fast and built large (36" ) in about an hour.
He was using a very soft clay, but adapted to the clay very quickly. I
think man beginning potters want fast or quick results. There is no
thing as "fast food" ceramics.
Counter weights could be added to the lower platform to help maintain a
little momentum, but the wheel is made to be slowly turned by foot or
buy hand.
