My regular sculpture is signed visibly and legibly=3D20
with my full name: Snail Scott.

Smaller pieces and some pottery get signed 'Snail',=3D20
along with a stamp shaped like an abstracted snail=3D20
which I've been using since high school. (Yes, I've=3D20
re-made it quite a few times, but always the same.)
I agree with Rimas about the amateur flavor of first-
name-signed work, but my last name is eminently=3D20
forgettable. The same cannot be said of my first=3D20
name! (I liken it to being Cher, or Madonna.) ;)=3D20
I have actually met another Snail, but he's an auto=3D20
mechanic, so I think there will be minimal confusion. =3D20
I'm pretty easy to Google.=3D20

(Of course, a local artist here thought the same. He=3D20
was the one-and-only Kim Humphries until Kim=3D20
Kardashian married Kris Humphries, and overnight=3D20
he found himself impossible to Google! He's a bit=3D20
peeved...)

Very small or quickie pieces often get my stamp=3D20
alone. These aren't the work that my reputation is=3D20
staked on, so I don't get too concerned if they're=3D20
not traceable to me. My major work had better be=3D20
identifiable, though, and even 'minor work' can=3D20
turn out to be important in retrospect.

I kept my name when I got married, but sometimes=3D20
I joke about using my theoretical 'married name'=3D20
as a secret identity for a whole line of insanely=3D20
marketable but truly embarrassing tchotchkes. A=3D20
friend has already volunteered to play me at public=3D20
appearances! Sadly, I've tarnished the Grand Plan =3D20
making a lot of embarrassing stuff already under=3D20
my own name. (Don't ask about my first really big=3D20
commission: a sculptural men's room wall in Paris,=3D20
France.) Ain't gonna tell you the name, either.=3D20
It's a _secret_ identity, right? You'll never know...
