stamping vs signing

Okay,

So John has made himself a signature stamp. What is the feeling about
stamping vs hand-signing pots? Which is preferred: logo stamp,
initials, web page, address, typeset name, signature, nothing?

I've seen them all and can appreciate what each brings to the table,
but certainly not a criteria for picking a pot, not for me. Now the
question is what kind of pots am I buying, right? I'll tell you that I
drink and eat out of 90% of the pots I buy. Every single one of those
pots has at least one maker's mark. Have not bought a pot in a galley
setting, however. I'm not sure what any of this means. Just making
observations. I do like knowing where a pot was made though--city,
state; city, country; planet, solar system; etc.--If that counts for
something. To be honest, I will sign the donation piece for next
year's pottery fair in Rockport. It's required and, I think, expected.
Now what does THAT mean?

Taylor
I use a very small typemetal stamp just showing
"LUE POTTERY", I do not include date, time, weather
conditions, GPS co-ords or my inside leg measurements.
All of these can be obtained from the 'net.
Except my inside leg measurements :-D
