Bauer has come up with a line of retro-ware which can be seen at the below =
website.
http://www.bauerpottery.com/
On the Beverageware page, click on "a note on using our teapot" and they ha=
ve the below caution regarding crazing:
Before adding your tea leaves or bags and your hot water to begin steepin=
g your tea, we suggest that you add about a half a pot full of hot tap wat=
er or some water from your kettle that's been on the heat a few minutes bu=
t not yet boiling.
Once your water is ready to brew, empty out the warming
water from the pot and then add your tea leaves and w=
ater.
This will do two things. First it will pre-warm your tea
pot so that the cold ceramic does not drain away heat=
from
your water as your tea steeps. Second, it will save y=
our
tea pot from the shock of going from room temperature=
to
212 degrees in an instant.
Some of you know that this kind of shock can cause crazing
in the glaze on a piece of pottery. Pre-warming will =
work
to eliminate some if not all of that crazing.

This same advice holds for your Bauer Coffee Pot.
This is a serving piece, made for pouring coffee at the table in a little=
bit more elegant fashion than right from the glass brewing pot.
So, before you pour in your already brewed coffee, let your Bauer Coffee =
Pot warm up with some hot tap water first.
